We are the Dogs, Welcome. ALBUM DROPS RIGHT NOW!
It's been a long time coming boys and girls. After over 7 months of arduous labor, the Dogs 2nd full length album has finally arrived. Free Write. the two named tantalizingly tearjerkingly terrific twelve song (-1) album. Perhaps Robin Pecknold will declare it the best album of 2009. Perhaps world leaders will don their headphones and forge a peaceful alliance in a new dog order. It will be called the first dognasty.
In all seriousness though, download the album

EPIC Skype concert!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! !
First off, I would like to apologize for not posting this concert on myspace or other places. Although, I'm afraid that if any more people were added to the skype conference call conference, we would have had some serious bandwidth problems. So it only consisted of the members of our band.
Thanks Zane for chiming in on the flute. Rivkah, thanks for rising out of bed early. Cole and Joel, you guys were there too. James way to figure out the conference call setting. Matt, thanks for turning 21. J. Elliot, I think I heard your voice but I may have been hallucinating.
We opened and closed with be the rain. It was a great set.
Keep your ears peeled for the new album. It's coming in the near future to a computer near you.
Also, if you happen to be at CMJ this year, look out for Matthew Bachmann to get some exclusive Dogs promo material.

We labored long and hard on a total of 19 songs and you should expect to see a new album within the next couple months as well as some b-sides in the more distant future. We are EXTREMELY excited about how all the songs turned out, and you should expect nothing less than a masterpiece. A FUCKING MASTERPIECE!!!! All thats left is for James to work his mixing magic... and some bottles to be broken
To keep you guys occupied for the time being, here are some videos from our last two shows... enjoy

Ottoman Empire Recap
Wonderful show at Ottoman Empire last night. Thank you so much Sabrina and Aaron for opening up your basement to us. Manson Family Picnic put on a great set after us and Leaf Bird played beautifully as always. It was one of our most destructive concerts to date but thankfully we managed to get through most of "Be the Rain" before the (nice) cops shut us down.
We are still recording our asses off trying to get the new album finished. It's sounding...... awesome......
Only one more show left this summer - this weekend at The Wiser House w/ Reverend Funnk and Agents of Change. Hope to see ya'll there, take care,
james

Thanks for Coming out
We want to thank everyone who came out to Reggies last saturday. We had a blast playing in the small space behind the counter and rocking the hell out of the record store. Hopefully you guys found some good music to add to the collection (I know I did.... Reactor!!!).
We have now entered the full time recording mode. Lots of work to be done, but at the end of the summer we should have a masterpiece on our hands. We will be announcing at least one new date this week and there should be hopefully two more dates to come. Keep checking back at the blog.
If you're 21+, come check us out at the Elbo Room next monday. We set up this cool thing where our concert will stream live over the internet so even if you can't come, you could listen live or on your own time. More details to come when we've got 'em.

So Crazy, Tires were Slashed
We want to thank everyone for coming out to the Viaduct last Saturday. It was an awesome night of music and art. We personally had our best concert probably ever (for 116 people!). Even though my tires got slashed, it was still probably the best night of the summer. For all of those who missed the show, here are some clips of some of the songs we played (links to youtube vids below). We have now kicked it into full recording mode and will be making some retreats to Palantine in next couple days to get some serious work done.... get excited!!!

Train Analogies
The wheels on the summer recording train are a rolling. We busted out the sm 57s yesterday and recorded an acoustic guitar in stereo. Groundbreaking. Our newest member has made it to town and we're planning our shows later this month. The time has come when ideas need to be fleshed out. If you hear bottles breaking outside your house, don't be alarmed. Just the next great Dogs track. Stay tuned and check out our tour schedule. Catch a show. or Two.

We woke up at 5am
We have successfully made our first tv appearance. It was promoting a show at the High Noon Saloon, High Noon Saloon, High Noon Saloon benefitting the EDGE project. We had a blast this weekend, busking around Madison, WI and busting open a watermelon afterwards. The show went well later that night. Watch and enjoy.

First Show of the Summer
Dogs first gig of the summer went very well. We played at my alma mater, West Suburban Montessori's block festival on East Ave. Very intense to say the least... 25 minuets of pure energy... kinda like if you shot-gunned a red bull. All the children sang along. Check back to the website to find out about new gigs to come. Photos to come via the blog!!!!
